The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency claimed it's alarmed regarding the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The provider issue produced for intervention activities a large influx of probable beneficiaries, which makes it tricky for the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more methods to help the servicing of all prospects and increase access to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
